Help with Fundraising Events
Ensuring there are enough resources for our staff to serve our clients in need is a critical role. As a volunteer you can help with fundraising events such as the Interfaith Shelter Golf Classic, the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, and our “Hands of Christ Creating Hope” benefit dinner. Coordinate an event at your parish or recommend ideas for new and creative fundraising activities.
One-Time Projects
Share your skills on a one-time project for our residential programs, such as the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, Lourdeshouse Maternity Home and Evergreen House. Projects include landscaping, painting and general maintenance. Come visit a program and suggest ways to make a difference.
Teaching Special Skills
Do you have a hobby or skill that you would like to share with a client. Teaching special skills to our clients, such as sewing, quilting, scrap booking, arts & crafts, life skills, physical fitness or anything that can help our residents, is welcome. Call us and tell us your skills and we can brainstorm ways they can assist our clients.
Organization
The Diocese of Harrisburg parishes and people are extremely generous, which means there are opportunities for sorting and organizing products or donations.
Mailings
Getting the word out is critical to our community understanding the services and needs. A simple but effective way to help is with mailings.
Volunteer Positions
Do you have free time and would like to help us recruit and coordinate volunteers? That would be a great way to help! If you are only interested in a specific event or project, volunteering to coordinate those would make a difference. If you have an idea for a specific volunteer project, let us know. If you are a student who needs ideas for a community service project, please give us a call.
