For one extraordinary day each year, Lancaster County is transformed into a community-wide celebration of generosity that supports hundreds of community benefit organizations serving our region.
Individuals experiencing homelessness find it challenging to meet basic needs, let alone address complex mental health concerns. Finding a meal or safe place to sleep is a higher priority, over attending a doctor’s appointment to refill a mental health medication.
The Labre walk in clinic is a low barrier mental health service where someone experiencing homelessness can walk in and see someone to assess their mental health needs. Basic mental health services can be provided onsite, connecting clients with community partners. Existing providers and having providers onsite will also assist with addressing complex mental health concerns.
Staff will work with clients for simple assessments related to basic needs, housing, medical needs and substance use, making referrals to providers as appropriate.
