Message from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,
Catholic Charities is a beacon of light shining through the darkness, illuminating a path of hope for all those who reach out to us in their time of need. Catholic Social Teaching calls us to a heart of charity toward others. Every person who comes to us for help at Catholic Charities is treated with the dignity and compassion demanded of us from Christ.
Empowering our neighbors by living God’s love transforms lives of despair into lives of hope and joy. Programs like Interfaith Shelter provide stable short-term shelter for families coping with an unexpected housing crisis. Lancaster Intensive Day School educates children challenged with behavioral health issues. Evergreen House accompanies women down the path to find sobriety. These examples do not begin to capture the depth of services provided by Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Harrisburg. Services include counseling, substance abuse support, assistance to pregnant mothers, addressing food and housing insecurity, adoption and foster care services, immigration and refugee services, exceptional schools and specialized family support programs.
The impact of Catholic Charities, as the social service arm of the Diocese of Harrisburg, is immeasurable and transforms lives every day. Christ’s teachings are the driving force of the services provided to our neighbors in need.
We invite you to be a part of the great work done every day through Catholic Charities. There is a role for everyone through prayer, volunteerism, and giving. Learn how you can get involved and help us share the love of Christ by transforming the lives of those who come to us for care.
May God bless you,
Kelly Gollick, MSW.
